Corian surfaces ensure easy care and renewability. Its nonporous, solid composition makes it easy to live and work with for many years.
Routine daily care and maintenance of Corian is easy. Use the following procedures as a guide to everyday care for Corian:
1. There are three types of worktop finishes: matte, semi-gloss and gloss.
2. All Corian sinks have the matte finish.
3. Soapy water or ammonia-based cleaners will remove most dirt and stains.
Although Corian is quite resistant to heat, you should always use a hot pad or a trivet with rubber feet.
In most cases, Corian can be repaired if it is accidentally damaged but try to follow our guidelines to prevent any permanent damage to Corian solid surface.
1. Do not expose Corian to strong chemicals. If contact occurs, quickly flush the surface with water.
2. Nail polish can be removed with a non-acetone based remover then flush with clean water.
3. Do not cut on top of Corian worktops, use a chopping board.
Damage including scratches, chemical stains or burns, and minor bumps, can be repaired on-site with an abrasive cleanser. For heavier damage, light sanding may be necessary.
1. Check extent of the damage and figure whether a minor repair will solve the problem.
2. If the damage is small, repair it with an abrasive cleanser.
Stains. Cuts. Scratches. While these can permanently mar most other surfaces, they won't compromise the appearance of Corian. It is easy to restore Corian to its original form.
Upon installation a Corian® worktop will have an overall satin sheen finish. However, as you use it Corian® acquires a smoother, finish. Even the cleaning properties appear to improve with use. So that this finish does not develop unevenly, you should use a gentle abrasive powder bleach or a mild cream abrasive cleanser once or twice a month over the first few months. Clean the entire worktop with a wet cloth. Rinse and wipe with a damp cloth, and dry with a soft cloth.
How to clean Corian® work tops & sinks
Corian® is not self-cleaning, but it is simple to maintain. Although liquids cannot penetrate Corian®, it is best to wipe up spills as they occur. Just use an ammonia based surface cleaner, a good solid surface cleaner or ordinary detergent. Clean your sink or worktop as usual, with a damp cloth and detergent, wiping it well and rinsing to get rid of any oils or, spray with a hard surface cleaner and leave a few minutes before rinsing.
If any stains need more attention you can sprinkle a gentle abrasive powder bleach on the damp surface and leave for a few minutes before using a soft cloth to rub, and rinsing/wiping then drying.
Once or twice a week remove all the fat and oil residues of food preparation from the sink using detergent. Partially fill the sink with warm, not boiling water and add 1 to 2 teaspoons of liquid bleach, and leave for a few hours.
Metal marks from pots and pans show on Corian® sinks, just as they do on porcelain, ceramic or acrylic. Also food preparation stains or discolouration (wine, tea, coffee vegetable oil and food residues, etc) build up in Corian® sinks just as in stainless steel sinks where they are less evident on the darker base colour. Hard water leaves visible water marks on Corian®, just as on glassware, which is why it should be wiped dry with a soft cloth after use.

CORIAN WORKTOPS ADD VALUE TO YOUR HOUSE
The following is an interesting snippet from a book Just Kitchens came across today - the author appears to think that installing Corian within your property raises the resale value.
We'd have to agree!
The following are ten phrases commonly used in real-estate advertisements. 5 of them have a powerful favourable correlation to the ultimate sales price, and five have a strong negative correlation. Guess which are which.
Ten Widespread Real-Estate Ad Phrases:
Fantastic
Granite
Spacious
State-of-the-Art
Corian
Charming
Maple
Great Neighborhood
Gourmet
A "fantastic" property is unquestionably fantastic enough to assure a high price, isn't?
What about a "charming" and "spacious" property in a "great neighborhood!"?
No, no, no, and no.
Here's the breakdown:
Five Terms Linked to a Increased Sales Price tag:
Granite
State-of-the-Art
Corian
Maple
Gourmet
Five Terms Correlated to a Reduced Sales Price tag:
Fantastic
Spacious
Charming
Great Neighborhood
Three of the five terms correlated with a higher sales value are physical descriptions of the property itself: granite, Corian, and maple.
As information goes, such terms are specific and straightforward-and therefore rather useful.
If you like granite, you might like the house; but even if you don't, "granite" certainly doesn't indicate a fixer-upper. Nor does "gourmet" or "state-of-the-art," each of which seem to tell a buyer that a home is, on some level, truly fantastic.

GRANITE WORKSURFACES AREN’T ONLY GOOD TO LOOK AT
The Benefits of Granite Tops
Extremely Durable: Granite is second in hardness to diamonds. With normal use, nothing in the kitchen will chip, ding, or break granite.
Heat Resistant: No need for trivets! Unlike "man made" synthetic countertops, granite can withstand a dish hot from the oven or stove right onto it's surface.
Stain Resistant: By its nature, granite is extremely dense and excellent at repelling stains. As an extra precaution, every Top Shelf Granite and Stone granite top is treated with imating sealer to help eliminate the possibility of stains occurring.
Scratch Resistant: The finish on granite is polished with diamonds and, with normal use, will never wear or fade as long as you own your home. Cutting on a granite top with kitchen cutlery will not scratch or damage it.
The Colors: Granite is available in an amazing array of colorful and unique patterns. No two granite tops are exactly the same.
